Our Hopeless Space
.
“In an age of hope
men looked up at the night sky
and saw “the heavens."
In an age of hopelessness
they call it simply “space."
Prof. Peter Kreeft

Manna humour
Moses is in the desert with the tribe,
after giving thanks and eating of the manna,
they started to walk until they came upon a skeleton.
Man: "oh my, who's that"
Moses : "name's Calvin, we tried to get him to eat,
but he insisted the manna was only a symbol"
"I am the living bread
that came down from heaven;
whoever eats this bread
will live forever;
and the bread that I will give
is my flesh
for the life of the world.”

Whitewashed Evil
.
“Revolting books against virtue
are termed courageous;
those against morality
are advertised as daring and forward-looking;
and those against God
are called progressive and epoch-making.
It has always been the characteristic of a generation in decay
to paint the gates of hell
with the gold of paradise.”
Archbishop Fulton Sheen (The Moral Universe)

File Under : A Protestant explains Protestantism
.
"Much of our difficulty
"Much of our difficulty
as seeking Christians
stems from our unwillingness
to take God as He is
and adjust our lives accordingly.
We insist upon
trying to modify Him
and bring Him
nearer to our own image".
nearer to our own image".

Why Christ Gave us One Church
"But I am afraid that,
as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning,
your thoughts may be corrupted
from a sincere [and pure]
commitment to Christ.
as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning,
your thoughts may be corrupted
from a sincere [and pure]
commitment to Christ.
For if someone comes and preaches another Jesus
than the one we preached,
or if you receive a different spirit
from the one you received
or a different gospel
from the one you accepted,
you put up with it well enough"
2 Cor 3-4
"The time is sure to come
when people will not accept sound teaching,
but their ears will be itching for anything new
and they will collect themselves
a whole series of teachers
according to their own tastes;
and then they will shut their ears to the truth
and will turn to myths"
but their ears will be itching for anything new
and they will collect themselves
a whole series of teachers
according to their own tastes;
and then they will shut their ears to the truth
and will turn to myths"
2 Timothy 4:3-4

No Plan B
.
There is a very simple way to end abortion, to eliminate pornography, to halt the Pink gestapo,
a very simple way to feed the poor, to care for the sick, to clothed the naked,
yes a very simple way,
If all Christians, in humility,
merely shed themselves of their denomination or non-denomination,
and united themselves to the One church that Christ started, . . . for Christ only gave us one church
One visible city on a hill to give hope to a hopeless world.
One united voice to say loudly
yes, so simple a solution,
but also difficult,
for we have not chosen our churches while seeking truth,
but too often while seeking our own prideful opinions.
We sadly serve our pride much more than we serve God.
We have stopped letting God define us,
and started to define God
by what this disease ridden world tells us is acceptable
To be a Christian is to pray with Christ "Let them be One"
and as Rich Mullins once said
"What I think is scary about God is He didn't come up with any 'plan B.'
That He left the church here, and the church is the only group of people and the church is the only institution in the world that can bring about a change. This government cannot do it, so stop depending on the government. Educational systems cannot do it, so stop trusting educational systems. The church was chosen by God to make a difference."
