I truly believe that other than the Protestant Reformation, one of the enemy's greatest successes is that foolish belief that many Catholics walk around with . . .that ridiculous idea that the Church's teachings are somehow a burden.
As an ex-"everybody is their own pope" Evangelical, one of the things that has given me the most peace is the knowledge that the Church not only WILL teach Truth, but that it Can't teach error. The wonderful charism that God has given to the Pope and the Magisterium is a not a mere protection for us, but a wonderful merciful gift from a loving Father.
We can rest in the knowledge that just as the Bible is infallible, so are the men who wrote and teach it. This Truth is not a burden but pure freedom, and a gift we all should feel free to re-gift to all.
