Cain or Abel?

As I was about to receive the Eucharist today 
I found myself pondering Cain and Abel and acceptable sacrifice
If it is truly Christ and truly a sacrifice, 
then we please God as Abel did, 
but if it is only a symbol, a false sacrifice, 
than are we not Cain?
